Even though the Bryan Bears have not done well against the Omaha North Vikings recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Bryan secured a 57-52 W over Omaha North. The win made it back-to-back wins for Bryan.
Bryan got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was A'mare Bynum out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Bynum has scored at least 25% of Bryan's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Jarmon, who scored 17 points.
Omaha North's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Deandre' Harper, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Bobby Brown was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Even though they lost, Omaha North were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bryan only pulled down four.
Bryan's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Omaha North, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Bryan will be playing at home against Westview at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Omaha North, they will head out on the road to face off against Gretna East at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
