Softball Recap: Woodcreek Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Woodcreek barely beat Folsom the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Timberwolves blew past the Bulldogs 10-2 on Thursday. Considering the Timberwolves have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Chloe Schmidt-Wolf spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Payton Green and Nicole Fonti did most of the damage at the plate: Green went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Fonti went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Camryn Kelley, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Woodcreek's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Folsom, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12-2 record this season.

As of now, neither Woodcreek nor Folsom have any future games scheduled.
