The Stringer Red Devils will challenge the Wayne County War Eagles at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Stringer's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Wayne County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Wayne County will be up against a hot Stringer team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Stringer was the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over Mize on Thursday. The game marked the Red Devils' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Madilyn Graham was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI.
In other batting news, Jaycee Holifield was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ava Jefcoat, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Stringer hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mize struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, Wayne County lost 15-4 to Enterprise on Thursday.
Karson Tate made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Harlee Reeves, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
Wayne County's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Stringer, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Stringer took their victory against Wayne County when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1. Will Stringer repeat their success, or does Wayne County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
