Flowing Wells hasn't had much luck against Mountain View recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Flowing Wells Caballeros are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge the Mountain View Mountain Lions at 4:00 p.m. Flowing Wells has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Flowing Wells is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Walden Grove on Tuesday. They lost 13-1 to the Red Wolves.

Kristen Felix made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mountain View, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Ironwood Ridge on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mountain Lions have posted since April 27, 2024.
Arianna Figueroa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Danika Stoddard and Mia Quinonez did most of the damage at the plate: Stoddard went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Quinonez scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Mountain View's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Flowing Wells, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Flowing Wells suffered a grim 19-6 defeat to Mountain View in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Flowing Wells avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
