The Seymour Wildcats waltzed into their contest Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. Everything went their way against Derby as Seymour made off with a 67-45 win. The result was nothing new for Seymour, who have now won three contests by 22 points or more so far this season.
Seymour's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joey Carrafiello, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that Carrafiello scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Indrit Peraj, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds.
Seymour's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Derby, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Seymour will head out on the road to face off against Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Holy Cross has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 312 points over their last four matches. As for Derby, they will be playing at home against Woodland Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Woodland Regional is ranked 120th, while Derby is ranked 127th).
