Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Orr beat Dyett 38-33. Given Orr's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Dyett is ranked 433rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Orr's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mariah Joiner , who scored four points along with ten rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Nia Crawford, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, even though Rich Township scored an imposing 67 points on Monday, Bloom still came out on top. Bloom escaped with a win against Rich Township by the margin of a single free throw, 68-67. The win was just what Bloom needed coming off of a 68-19 loss in their prior contest.
Orr pushed their record up to 6-3 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Bloom, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
