The Chambers Cougars will look to defend their home court on Friday against the North Mecklenburg Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Chambers blew past Hopewell, posting a 69-22 win on the road. The win made it back-to-back wins for Chambers.
Brianna Redmond was nothing short of spectacular: she scored 33 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Simpson, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, North Mecklenburg put the finishing touches on their 13th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They really took it to West Mecklenburg for the full four quarters, racking up a 86-11 win on the road. With North Mecklenburg ahead 50-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Chambers is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season. As for North Mecklenburg, they pushed their record up to 17-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Chambers was taken down by North Mecklenburg 69-26 when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of North Mecklenburg's Lenise Joseph, who dropped a triple-double on 16 points, ten rebounds, and 11 blocks. Now that Chambers knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
