It was a good run, but the Shelby County Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 37-18 bruising from Central of Clay County. While losing is never fun, Shelby County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while the Volunteers are ranked 126th).
Leading Central of Clay County to victory were India Glenn and Nariah Brock. Glenn scored eight points, while Brock scored ten points.
Shelby County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Central of Clay County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 21-5.
Shelby County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central of Clay County's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Aggies at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Sylacauga is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
