On Wednesday, the McKinley Tech Trainers faced the School Without Walls Penguins in a battle between two of the state's top teams. McKinley Tech breezed by School Without Walls at home to the tune of 70-43. McKinley Tech has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 22 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McKinley Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ricardo Zeno, who scored ten points. Alexander Williams was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Despite the loss, School Without Walls still got an impressive performance from Chidiire Nwokwu, who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nwokwu has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Paul Joire, who scored ten points along with two steals.
The win makes it two in a row for McKinley Tech and bumps their season record up to 11-8. As for School Without Walls, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McKinley Tech will take on Dunbar at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Dunbar has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 406 points over their last six games. As for School Without Walls, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Banneker at 7:00 p.m. Banneker is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.9 points per game.
