Copper Basin and Richland squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Copper Basin had to settle for second. They came up short against the Richland Raiders, falling 45-25. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Copper Basin saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kloie Ballew posted six points and eight rebounds. Ballew is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Copper Basin's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Richland, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 29-4.

Copper Basin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Richland, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 47-40 loss against Greenfield on the 14th.
