B District 2 (8 Man) recap October 22, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in B District 2 (8 Man) this week, Alex beat Geary 74-40. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Oklahoma Christian Academy took down Macomb 74-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Caleb Powell threw for 119 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 93 yards in the win.
Rowdy Abeyta was a key player and the best on defense this week as Cyril lost to Allen. The 5-foot-11 sophomore recorded 1 fumble.
Sean Lowery was the best receiver in the league this week as the Pirates lost to the Mustangs. Lowery tallied 3 receptions for 62 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Justin Deaton and Dalton James, Allen has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Deaton is tops in the league in passing with 865 yards, while James has rushed for 1,165 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is the Eagles' Nathaniel Garner, with 874 yards on 38 catches.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Central and Alex. The Bronchos enters the game ranked 18th in the state, while Matt Brand's team ranks 12th.
Kevin Harris of the Central is only 8 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 65 carries Harris has accumulated 992 yard this year.
