It was a good run, but The Maria Carrillo Pumas unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by St. Vincent de Paul 42-14. Maria Carrillo was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.
St. Vincent de Paul was led to victory by Jack Davis and Gabe Casanovas. Davis gained 138 total yards and three touchdowns, while Casanovas rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Casanovas was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. Mason Caturegli and his 89 yards on the ground were also a key factor in St. Vincent de Paul's victory.
Maria Carrillo's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for St. Vincent de Paul, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maria Carrillo will stay at home for another week and welcome Petaluma at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. St. Vincent de Paul will take on Kennedy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kennedy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
