After two games on the road, Mica Mountain is heading back home. They will take on the Sahuarita Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Mica Mountain is ranked 64th, while Sahuarita is ranked 74th).
On Tuesday, Mica Mountain strolled past Amphitheater with points to spare, taking the game 55-39.
Isabella Webb was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Mica Mountain's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Mathie, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Sahuarita, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-46 loss to Douglas on Tuesday. Sahuarita has not had much luck with Douglas recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Mica Mountain's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7. As for Sahuarita, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.
Mica Mountain was able to grind out a solid win over Sahuarita in their previous meeting on January 8th, winning 59-47. Does Mica Mountain have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sahuarita turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
