Basketball Recap: Monday's Win Is Patrick Henry Academy's Third in Last Four Outings

Cathedral Academy came into Monday's contest looking for another win against Patrick Henry Academy, but Lillian Lucas wouldn't allow it. The Patrick Henry Academy Patriots walked away with a 52-41 win over the Cathedral Academy Generals on Monday thanks in part to Lucas, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Patrick Henry Academy's points.

Another player making a difference was Laney Futch, who posted four points in addition to 16 rebounds and six assists. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played.

Despite the loss, Cathedral Academy still got an impressive performance from Madison Jackson, who had 26 points. Those 26 points gave Jackson a new career-high. Raven Williams was another key player, putting up seven points.

Patrick Henry Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Cathedral Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Patrick Henry Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 46-27 victory against Calhoun Academy on the 14th. As for Cathedral Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pee Dee Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pee Dee Academy's defense has only allowed 23 points per game this season, so Cathedral Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
