Celina unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 30-3 loss at the hands of Wapakoneta. Celina was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 23-3.
Meanwhile, Hillsboro came up short against McClain on Friday and fell 21-13.
Despite the defeat, Hillsboro saw an underclassman step up: Mason Dumpert rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also threw for 51 yards and a touchdown. Dumpert's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards.
Celina's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Hillsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
