Mountain View is 2-8 against Timpanogos since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bruins will head out on the road to square off against the Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. Mountain View will be strutting in after a win while Timpanogos will be coming in after a loss.
Mountain View took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Uintah 41-20. That 21 point margin sets a new team best for the Bruins this season.

A big part of Mountain View's victory came down to the chemistry between Tate Johnson and his top target Hyrum Stafford. Johnson threw for 285 yards and three TDs while Stafford gained 133 total yards and three touchdowns. Johnson has become a key player for Mountain View: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. 139 of Johnson's passing yards were hauled in by Koa Giles, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
One reason for the win was Mountain View's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Siakale Lehauli, Alani Fua, and Carter Vance, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, Timpanogos played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 61-24 defeat at the hands of Provo. The loss continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost seven in a row.
Mountain View will have to contain Andrew Hillstead as he made an impact in Timpanogos' last game. He threw for 399 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. Shane Eaquinto also helped out as he racked up 106 receiving yards.
Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 2.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Jace Spencer for the heroic effort on defense: he. Timpanogos hasn't allowed more than 3.6 yards per carry in three consecutive matchups.
Timpanogos now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Mountain View, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Johnson and Hillstead. Johnson just won't slow down this season and has thrown 15 touchdowns while averaging 222.2 passing yards per game. Hillstead has been a dominant force too and has thrown 15 touchdowns while averaging 225.3 passing yards per game.
Mountain View couldn't quite get it done against Timpanogos in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 as they fell 34-24. Can the Bruins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
