They blew past the Mariners 20-7. That's two games straight that Ahoskie Christian has won by exactly 13 runs.
Casey Piland and Keira Lassiter were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Piland tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Lassiter struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for New Bern Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
New Bern Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Ahoskie Christian in their previous matchup back in March, winning 9-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Bern Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
