The Ralls Jackrabbits's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 97-54 loss at the hands of Floydada. While losing is never fun, Ralls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1303rd, while Floydada is ranked 337th).
Leading Floydada to victory were Sergio Valadez and Braun Hobbs. Valadez made all 6 shots he took from beyond the arc racking up 25 points and 1 assist, while Hobbs scored 29 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Valadez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tyrean Henderson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Ralls has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Floydada, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-6.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Olton the next time they take the court. Floydada will host Olton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Ralls will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
