The Miller Rebels can finally bid farewell to their 21-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They snuck past San Bernardino with a 76-72 victory. Miller's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
San Bernardino's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was George McEwen, who scored 17 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. McEwen hasn't dropped below 17 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Stokes, who scored 19 points along with four steals.
Even though they lost, San Bernardino smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. This was only their 13th loss (out of 18 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Miller's victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-18. As for San Bernardino, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-18.
Miller will take on the COYOTES at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Indian Springs is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games. As for San Bernardino, they will head out on the road to face off against the Pirates at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in California (Pacific is ranked 1181st, while the Cardinals are ranked 1177th).
