Brush is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Thursday. They will venture away from home to challenge the Resurrection Christian Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Brush will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Brush's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Bruce Randolph 21-0. That 21-run margin sets a new team best for the Beetdiggers this season.
Edgar Ortiz was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ortiz was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. He also put up two hits, which were his first of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Resurrection Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Peak to Peak with a sharp 10-2 victory on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Will Busby made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carson Klein, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Caleb Snyder was another key player, earning four runs and one stolen base.
Brush's record is now 3-1. As for Resurrection Christian, their record now sits at 2-5.
Brush got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 against Resurrection Christian by a conclusive 7-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beetdiggers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
