Hermon-DeKalb Central won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They were outmatched by Harrisville on the road and fell 88-30. While losing is never fun, Hermon-DeKalb Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 673rd, while Harrisville is ranked 91st).
Meanwhile, St. Lawrence Central scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Edwards-Knox 63-32 at home. With St. Lawrence Central ahead 37-15 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Ayden Beach had a dynamite game for St. Lawrence Central, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Beach has scored at least a third of St. Lawrence Central's points. Another player making a difference was Austin Mason, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Hermon-DeKalb Central now has a losing record at 1-2. As for St. Lawrence Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
