This season hasn't been kind to the Whiting Oilers, who are still winless after their fifth match. They fell 70-60 to Chicago Washington on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Whiting's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yovanni Garro, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Garro scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shawn Donaldson, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Whiting's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Chicago Washington, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Whiting will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Morgan Township at 10:00 a.m. on December 26th. Chicago Washington will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Kelly at 5:00 p.m. on December 18th.
