Jersey Shore couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They suffered a  rough 9-2 defeat at the hands of the Mifflinburg Wildcats  on Thursday.  Jersey Shore saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Danielle Miller, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Jersey Shore  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mifflinburg struck out ten times.
 On Mifflinburg's side,  Taylor Stewart made a big impact no matter where she played. She  tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   six  hits. Stewart was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Pachucki Anna was  excellent,  going 2-for-4 with a  triple, two  RBI,  and a  run.  Madison Fohringer was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 The  win  made it two in a row for Mifflinburg and  bumps their season record up to 2-0.
 Jersey Shore will head out on the road to  face off against  Montoursville at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Mifflinburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Warrior Run at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
