The Fillmore Central Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They came out on top against Wilber-Clatonia by a score of 64-54. The victory was just business as usual for Fillmore Central, who after six games remain undefeated this season.
Fillmore Central was led to victory by Carson Asche and Daniel Stoner. Asche scored 17 points, while Stoner scored 20 points. The match was Stoner's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kade Cooper, who scored seven points.
Aiden Zajicek and Grant Kuhlmann certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Zajicek scored 18 points along with eight rebounds, while Kuhlmann scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. Zajicek continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Carson Radcliff, who scored five points along with seven assists.
Fillmore Central's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Wilber-Clatonia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Fillmore Central and St. Cecilia will face off on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. Cecilia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Fillmore Central is ranked 25th). As for Wilber-Clatonia, they will head out on the road to face off against Thayer Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Thayer Central will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
