Even though the Knightdale Knights have not done well against the Broughton Capitals recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Everything went Knightdale's way against Broughton as Knightdale made off with a 63-40 victory. Given Knightdale's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Broughton is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Isaiah Green continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with five steals. Green is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jason Dickerson, who scored 15 points.
Despite the loss, Broughton saw an underclassman step up: Jordan Page scored 23 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Page has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played.
The victory makes it two in a row for Knightdale and bumps their season record up to 10-4. As for Broughton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Knightdale will take on Wake Forest at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Wake Forest is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home. Broughton will take on Heritage at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
