Hondo is 8-2 against Lytle since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Hondo Owls will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lytle Pirates at 6:15 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Hondo sitting on five straight wins and Lytle on three.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hondo beat Crystal City 47-43.
Meanwhile, Lytle can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Dilley 93-15 at home. That looming 93-15 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Lytle yet this season.
Hondo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Lytle, their victory bumped their record up to 19-7.
Hondo was dealt a bruising 79-51 defeat at the hands of Lytle in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Hondo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
