Caldwell is 8-2 against South Haven since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Caldwell Bluejays' road trip will continue as they head out to face the South Haven Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Caldwell is ranked 238th, while South Haven is ranked 263rd).
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Caldwell, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-48 loss to Sedan. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Caldwell in their matchups with Sedan: they've now lost four in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jackson Risley, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Newell, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, South Haven had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They took down Flinthills 51-35.
Caldwell bumped their record down to 3-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for South Haven, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Everything came up roses for Caldwell against South Haven when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 51-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Caldwell since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
