Richmond extended the longest winning streak in 4A Southeastern this week by beating Pinecrest, 27-18. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Raiders.
Scotland took down Lumberton 35-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Fighting Scots' Jaylend Ratliffe and Tra'Shawn Gregory have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Ratliffe has thrown for 914 yards this season, while Gregory, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 23 catches for 324 yards. The Pirates' Daniel Robinson leads the league in rushing yards with 1071.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Richmond and Scotland. Paul Hoggard's team enters the game ranked fifth in the state, while Richard Bailey's team ranks ninth.
Hoke County's Detrez Newsome is a mere 82 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 77 carries Newsome has accumulated 918 yard this year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Raiders take on the Fighting Scots. Richmond has allowed 126 points this season, while Scotland has given up 88. The Raiders allowed 18 points last week as they beat Pinecrest.
The Fighting Scots led 4A Southeastern in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on Lumberton.
