It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Jefferson had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 28-21 victory over the George Washington Patriots. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Jefferson found their leader in freshman Logan Meredith, who picked up 76 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Jaden Black and Sameje' Wesley certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Black rushed for 113 yards and one TD, while Wesley picked up 125 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Black's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 113 rushing yards.
Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for George Washington, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.
