Decatur is 9-1 against Washington since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Decatur Seahawks will look to defend their home court against the Washington Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Decatur's favor as the team sits on 15 straight wins at home while Washington has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Decatur suffered their closest loss yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of Snow Hill by a score of 64-62. The loss put an end to Decatur's undefeated start to the season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brycen Coleman, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Careen Bolden, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Washington pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pocomoke. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Washington in their matchups with Pocomoke: they've now lost four in a row.
Decatur's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-1. As for Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Everything came up roses for Decatur against Washington in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 76-42 win. Will Decatur repeat their success, or does Washington have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
