West Laurens has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Westside Seminoles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully West Laurens focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday.
West Laurens struggled with offensive rebounds on Friday (Baldwin had 22 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. West Laurens was outmatched by Baldwin on the road and fell 74-28. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points West Laurens has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jarissa Robinson, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Covin, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Westside had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged Perry out 42-40. The win was just what Westside needed coming off of a 69-19 defeat in their prior matchup.
West Laurens' defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Westside, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-15.
West Laurens beat Westside 32-25 when the teams last played back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Westside's Destiny Spencer, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
