They came out on top against Social Circle by a score of 56-47. Given Putnam County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Social Circle is ranked 326th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Putnam County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamyra Aikens, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Journey Waller, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Putnam County pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Social Circle, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Putnam County will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Westside at 6:00 p.m. Westside is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Social Circle, they will head out on the road to face off against Eastside at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
