Basketball Recap: Faith Academy Charter Has No Trouble Against Woodlawn

The Faith Academy Charter Patriots strolled past the Woodlawn Trailblazers with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 60-46.

Jelani King produced another solid effort dropping a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds. King is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Bennett Brinkley, who posted 12 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Faith Academy Charter was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Faith Academy Charter's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Woodlawn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Faith Academy Charter and North Hills Christian will face off at 6:15 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. The Patriots will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 68.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Woodlawn, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Weddington Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 2.
