Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Severance's strategy against Northridge on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Severance blew Northridge out of the water with a 66-31 final score. The Silver Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 23 points or more this season.
Severance's win came from a few key players Greeley Central will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Blake Varney, who had 11 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cannon Rank, who put up seven points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Severance smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive games.
Severance's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points over those games. As for Greeley Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-16.
Greeley Central was taken down by Severance 74-27 in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Severance's Christian Powell, who went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc to rack up 24 points. Now that Greeley Central knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
