Volleyball Recap: Ryan Extends Winning Streak to Four

Ryan waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Temple Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Ryan who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 17-25, 25-18.

Ryan was led to victory by Abigail Vasquez and Atiya Everett. Vasquez had 12 digs and three assists, while Everett had eight assists and five digs. Vasquez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 14 games she's played dating back to last season.

Ryan was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Ryan's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Temple, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Ryan has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Saginaw on the 15th. As for Temple, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Keller Central on the 15th.
