Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Pleasantville Panthers walked away with it. They blew past Lakeland 42-14 at home. The win was just business as usual for Pleasantville, who after nine games remain undefeated this season.
It was another big night for Daniel Picart, who rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Picart really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run. Aiden Picart was another key contributor, rushing for 32 yards and a touchdown.
Pleasantville's victory was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Lakeland, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Pleasantville will face off against Rye at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rye is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Lakeland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
