The Mountain View Eagles will challenge the Montrose Meteors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
On Wednesday, Mountain View beat Carbondale Area 11-7. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly four runs.
Jordan Jagger made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Mountain View is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. Jagger was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ziggy Bradford was incredible, going 1-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 12 games he's played. Jackson Gesford was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Mountain View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Montrose unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against Elk Lake, falling 9-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Meteors have suffered since April 8, 2024.
Montrose saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hudson Aukema, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Montrose's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Mountain View, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mountain View has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Montrose struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
