West Phoenix has been on the road for four straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Western SciTech Aztec Warrior at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. West Phoenix will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Western SciTech is ranked 64th).
West Phoenix suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Imagine Prep, falling 62-8. West Phoenix was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.
Meanwhile, Western SciTech put another one in the bag last Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 26-5 margin over Southwest Leadership Academy. Western SciTech has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season.
West Phoenix has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Western SciTech, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0.
West Phoenix skirted past Western SciTech 24-22 when the teams last played back in January of 2022. Will West Phoenix repeat their success, or does Western SciTech have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
