The Goshen RedHawks''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Mishawaka, falling 48-14. Goshen has struggled against Mishawaka recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Elliot Frey rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 49 yards and a touchdown. Jace Hershbeger was his top target, picking up 49 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Drew Elliott rushed for 97 yards.
Goshen's defeat was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-1 Warsaw and 9-2 NorthWood (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61.9% over those games). As for Mishawaka, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Goshen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mishawaka will head out on the road to face off against Concord at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Concord is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
