A well-balanced attack led the Brookhaven Panthers over the North Pike Jaguars in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Brookhaven took down North Pike 44-27. The win was familiar territory for Brookhaven who now have three in a row.
Brookhaven's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madison Benson led the charge by scoring 14 points along with seven steals and five assists. Benson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aliyah Watkins, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Brookhaven now has a winning record of 13-12. As for North Pike, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brookhaven will take on Natchez at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Natchez focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. As for North Pike, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Florence at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Florence will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
