The Brooklyn Tech Engineers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 58-57 victory over Achievement First. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Troy Hornbeck was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Chadwyck Beckford was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Brooklyn Tech's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Achievement First, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Brooklyn Tech won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Boerum Hill at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th. Achievement First does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
