The Sundown Roughnecks will take on the Morton Indians at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Sundown's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Tahoka with a sharp 17-0 victory. The Roughnecks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by ten runs or more this season.

Destiny Garza was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Sundown got a massive performance out of Brynly Gregory, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Camry Jourden was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Sundown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tahoka only posted an OBP of .000.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Morton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Seagraves 15-4 on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Indians needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Like Sundown, Morton also got a great game from a two-way player: Audrie Garcia. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Garcia was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Maya Huckabee was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was J'Lynn Marquez, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Sundown and bumps their season record up to 12-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.0 runs over those games. As for Morton, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Sundown has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .526. However, it's not like Morton struggles in that department as they've averaged .506. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Sundown's way against Morton when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Sundown made off with a 16-0 victory. Do the Roughnecks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
