The Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a serious blow against College Heights Christian, falling 87-30. Jefferson Independent Day has not had much luck with College Heights Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Jefferson Independent Day saw an underclassman step up: Kohl Thurman scored 12 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Twiss, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Jefferson Independent Day has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 14 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season. As for College Heights Christian, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson Independent Day will face off against Exeter at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Jefferson Independent Day focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Tuesday. As for College Heights Christian, they will head out on the road to take on McAuley Catholic at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
