Meanwhile, South Pemiscot hadn't done well against Senath-Hornersville recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Lions. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 13 matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Like Portageville, South Pemiscot also got a great game from a two-way player: Phoenix Simmons. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Simmons was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Another player making a difference was Ta'Kylah Wooden, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
South Pemiscot always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Senath-Hornersville only posted an OBP of .364.
South Pemiscot has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Portageville, their record now sits at 10-12.
