Basketball Game Preview: Summit Christian Academy Falcons vs. Mount Hope Christian Academy Warriors

The Summit Christian Academy Falcons will square off against the Mount Hope Christian Academy Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Summit Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Mount Hope Christian Academy likes a good challenge.

Summit Christian Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Narrows just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 62-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Green Waves. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Falcons came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 44th in West Virginia, while the Green Waves are ranked 129th in Virginia).

Despite the defeat, Summit Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ella Botts went 12 of 21 on her way to 34 points and four steals. Botts' evening made it 14 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bailee Martin, who went 7 for 12 en route to 18 points.

Meanwhile, Mount Hope Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 47-38 to Midland Trail.

Summit Christian Academy will need focus on slowing down MCKENNA JONES, one of several Mount Hope Christian Academy players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 11 points and six boards. JONES is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. SOPHIA PACK was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Mount Hope Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Summit Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Summit Christian Academy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 22.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Mount Hope Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
