Olmsted Falls is 10-0 against the Eagles since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Olmsted Falls Bulldogs will look to defend their home court against the Avon Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Olmsted Falls will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
Olmsted Falls is ranked highly in their home state, and on Wednesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Ramblers. Olmsted Falls walked away with a 56-46 victory over the Ramblers.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Avon, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-38 loss to the Rangers on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Avon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Rangers are ranked 40th).
Despite the defeat, Avon got a solid performance out of Molly Drenik, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Drenik is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenzie Ptacek, who scored eight points.
Olmsted Falls' win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Avon, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
Everything went Olmsted Falls' way against the Eagles when the teams last played back in January as the Bulldogs made off with a 49-27 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Drenik, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Olmsted Falls still be able to contain Drenik? There's only one way to find out.
