It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bremen had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Winamac Warriors. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on six straight.
Aden Hunziker was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Hunziker was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.
Hunziker wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Alvarado, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Bremen's record is now 18-9. As for Winamac, their loss dropped their record down to 15-12.
Coming up, Bremen will square off against Jimtown at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Jimmies will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. Winamac does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
