Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dorchester Academy). Everything went their way against the Northwood Academy Chargers on Monday as they made off with a 22-1 win. Considering the Raiders have won seven contests by more than ten runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Emery McClure was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. McClure was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Lily Canady was a standout: she got on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Ava Higbe was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Dorchester Academy's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Northwood Academy, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
