Westfield put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the Langley Saxons 24-6.
Westfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malachi Lee, who picked up 157 receiving yards and one TD. Lee also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making five total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception. PJ Sutherland was in the mix as well, providing Westfield with two scores.
Westfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caleb Waters and Lee.
Westfield's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Langley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
Looking ahead, Westfield will square off against Washington-Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Generals have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Langley, they are taking a road trip to challenge Yorktown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
