Woodville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Huntington Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Woodville, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-42 loss to Pollok Central. While losing is never fun, Woodville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 979th, while Pollok Central is ranked 423rd).
Meanwhile, Huntington's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 54-38 to Diboll. Huntington has not had much luck with Diboll recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Woodville's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Huntington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.
Woodville came up short against Huntington in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 51-41. Can Woodville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
